I personally couldn’t care less about the love triangle aspect between Kara, James Olsen and Winn Schott, although I was rooting for Schott. This character who’s invincible but not invulnerable. despite the story getting from the point of cheesy to just unbearable and poorly written, I chose to stay because number one, I think Melissa Benoist is just absolutely perfect for the role, not only is she beautiful but she’s also a damn good actress, another reason is it’s been a while since the last time we had a strong female lead character on TV, so even though this one does come with non-human powers, but I’m really digging the themes presented in each episode, that vulnerability that comes with not feeling like you belong, it’s one of the many reasons why I grew up a fan of Superman. I think that’s why I stuck around this past season. Each episode takes you through Kara’s slowly but surely embracing her strength, learning to control her powers and becoming wise in her decision-making as a superhero. She helps her sister Alex and the Department of Extra Normal Operations keep the earth safe from criminal aliens. Little Kara gets adopted by the Danvers and then years later, she works in National City for media mogul Cat Grant and that’s when Kara starts to embrace her superhuman abilities. We all know the story, Kara escapes the doomed planet Krypton, she’s supposed to take care of her cousin, Kal-El but turns out, she doesn’t arrive at the same time, Kal-El has already become Superman by then.

As long as it has steady numbers, I think we might see SUPERGIRL stay a while on The CW.

Because over there, the big boys have higher standards when it comes to ratings, whereas SUPERGIRL’s new home, The CW, is a bit more lenient. So mark your calendar.įirst of all, keep in mind that this show is brought to you by the same guys behind “Arrow,” and “The Flash.” SUPERGIRL going to CBS remains, I think, one of its biggest mistakes.
SUPERGIRL SEASON 1 BLU RAY PLUS
Granted the story’s quality did go downhill since its debut last year and some of the episodes including The Flash mashup, were just an absolute disaster, but I guess because I’ve been a Superman fan all my life, I still ended up rooting for his cousin, Kara, played by Melissa Benoit, a part of me still wishes that this series can dig itself out and get back up and fly again.īy the way, before I go any further, I just want to mention that this Blu-Ray contains all 20 episodes from Season 1 plus enhanced content including deleted scenes and gag reel, which will be available in stores everywhere starting August 9, 2016. I may be alone on this one but I was really actually a fan of #Supergirl series this past season. The following opinions I share are my own.
